Welcome

“Hi. Howdy. Hola. Hallo. Bonjour. Kon’nichiwa.”

What a treat it is to have you here.

I am Julia Blues, the Story Psychologist. I’m sure you’re wondering what that is exactly. Well, let me tell you.

Story is an account of details. Experiences. A narrative. What life is made up of.

Psychology is the science and study of mind and behavior, according to Merriam-Webster.

Being a writer and a student majoring in psychology, I decided to marry the two. Storytelling is what I do; it is a part of me. But getting into the mind of people, studying their habits, tracing their patterns, trying to come up for reasons of behavior is a part of who I am as well. I spend a lot of time developing characters, digging into their core, finding out who they are and why they do what they do. It’s as if I am their therapist listening to their stories unfold while taking copious notes.

Telling my story freed me, and I want to offer that same opportunity to others, no matter how long they’ve been telling the same story.

As the Story Psychologist, one of my main goals is to assist you in transitioning from who you were to who you are to who you desire to become. I aim to help you change your narrative by getting to the core of your story–the core of who you are.  Changing the narrative of our lives is never easy, especially when it’s a story we can tell in our sleep, but if we allow ourselves to rewrite one line at a time, one chapter at a time, our story can read in a way that will create the future to be our best book yet.

Life changes. People change. The story changes. As we live, learn, grow, and love, the very fabric that lace our stories—individually and collectively—begin to take on a new pattern.  As a story psychologist, I want to bring awareness to how our narratives shape our lives through the use of storytelling. I like to look at psychology as a way to treat the soul, and for me, my goal is to do that through storytelling.

It is my hope that through my story and the stories I tell that you are able to move through life more sure of who you are.

The story behind you and the story in front of you compare not to the story within you.

Be abundantly blessed,
